Retailers Suggest Shoplifting May Be Easing as Fraud and Other Disruptions Increase

Retailers are suggesting, according to NRF data, that incidents of pure shoplifting may be easing somewhat as fraud and other scams appear to be ramping up. “Retail theft and violence remain persistent and costly issues for retailers, employees and communities. In response, retailers have invested heavily to harden stores and deter violence — efforts that appear to be having an effect,” the report authors wrote (more).
