PayPal Sees Acquisition Offer From Stripe, Advent International Worth $53 Billion

Stripe and Advent International are offering to buy PayPal in a $53 billion bid, one which represents a significant 28% premium over PayPal’s closing valuation on July 14. PayPal has not responded to the offer as of yet, but had gained ~20% in early morning trading on July 15 (more).
