The parent company of Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Lucky Brand, Nautica and JCPenney is hosting two hiring events, with the first taking place from Oct. 17 through Oct. 19 (via press release).
  • Bed Bath & Beyond plans to launch a national franchise system, allowing corporate stores to exist side-by-side with franchise operations. Franchise documentation is expected to be finalized within six months (via Chain Store Age).

  • Amazon is building a new facility in Indiana, one which leverages technology to improve the e-commerce giant’s fulfillment network. The fulfillment center will be located in Greenfield, and is slated to come in at a size of 1 million square feet (via Chain Store Age).
  • Mattel is partnering with OpenAI on its Sora 2 AI video model. According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Mattel has been testing Sora 2, using the tech to “bring product ideas to life more quickly” (via Reuters).
