FDA Approves New Sunscreen Ingredient

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new sunscreen ingredient as safe for use in U.S. sunscreen, bemotrizinol. This represents the first new UV filter since 1999, and bemotrizinol blocks UVA and UVB rays and offers low levels of absorption through the skin into the body (more).
