NRF Data Suggests Retail Spending Will Remain Strong in 2026

The National Retail Federation (NRF) has provided data suggesting an expectation that retail spend will improve by 4.4% in 2026, reaching $5.6 trillion. “While the geopolitical environment and ongoing trade policy challenges warrant close attention, we remain optimistic that the underlying fundamentals of the U.S. economy will support continued stability in the year ahead,” NRF chief economist and executive director of research Mark Mathews said (via NRF).
